To be considered a rookie the member must be new to the sport of dragonboat racing, not just new to the PDBA. These proven, high intensity early morning practices have been the foundation of the PDBA’s success at national and world championships since the mid 1980s.
– 5 high intensity, mixed gender, all ages practices per week run by IDBF Hall-of-Fame Coach Robert McNamara. On water practices start in April.
–An additional early evening practice tailored specifically for novices. (Starts in June)
– If you are selected for competition, the PDBA covers all team registration, tent rental and other fees related to racing.
– Use of the PDBA's OC-1s on the Schuylkill River when supervised by an experienced PDBA member.
